I had a good run yesterday, did my 2nd best time ever on a 32 (2:47), my best was in 2000 at Bronkhorstspruit.  Who said getting older means getting slower...?  q22

Calypso and Smokey - Well done.

Ken - Sounds like you are in much better shape compared to last year.

Niel - Thank you for a very enjoyable first 16km. Sorry you had a bad day out there, but it prevented you from pushing hard which means your legs will be fine for Sani!

I last did this race back in 2005 and hated it. Yesterday was a very nice surprise, the new route is a vast improvement on the old one and it really was a pleasant experience. I may well be back for more next year.

Well done to RAC!

This race got my nerves up a few days before, as I've only done 2 of them before, back in 2006 and 2007 I think ...

4 of us set out for an easy relaxed run, going for 3:12 (6min per km).

All went well, but the time was a bit slower than anticipated.
Finished the race in 3:19, feeling very good, and if I have to be honest with myself, could've done another 10km (with some effort) if I had to.  Felt great afterwards and not to sore.

Great day out.

Ken
You looked pretty strong in  the first half. Pity about the hiccups along the second half.
I managed my 32k PB at 3:49, you just needed to stay with me!
I did not enjoy the water sachets, water tastted "old" , some was very miltony. I kept cool by pouring the water  on my cap.
As a gunner it was a great weekend!

Indeed, Dave - I had a pretty good first half. It was just that horrible 7km section that got to me.

And I do agree about the water. I also found it tasted funny, so didn't drink much. Maybe that had something to do with it?
